Privacy for tutors: linked calendars

A tutor can link their own calendars (Google Calendar, Outlook or Microsoft 365, Apple iCloud, or a private calendar address) so that we do not offer a session at a time they are busy.

  • We ask the calendar only when the tutor is busy or free. We do not read or keep the titles, guests, places or notes of any event. We keep the start and end of each busy period, and nothing else about it.
  • We use that only to hide times from candidates and to stop a double booking. We do not use it for advertising, sell it, share it, or use it to train models.
  • A tutor can disconnect a calendar at any time on their Availability page. That deletes what we hold from it. A tutor can also withdraw access at the source: from their Google or Microsoft account permissions, or by revoking the app-specific password they made for us in their Apple ID settings. An Apple password is stored encrypted, is used only to read when the tutor is busy, and is never shown again.
  • Whitehorse Maritime Academy's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Tutors can also subscribe to a private feed of their booked sessions in their own calendar app. The feed shows the session times, the ticket and the first names of the people attending, and is only reachable through its private address.

Who we are

Whitehorse Maritime Academy is the trading name of two companies:

  • Whitehorse Maritime (EU) Limited, registered in Cyprus (HE473821), Dimotikis Agoras 20, Larnaca, 6021, Cyprus. It runs this booking system and takes most payments.
  • Whitehorse Maritime Academy Limited, registered in England and Wales (company no. 12549509), 171 Duke Street, St. Helens, WA10 2JH, UK. It provides tuition and invoices some company clients in the UK.

The two companies are jointly responsible for your personal information. Whichever you deal with, contact us at hello@whitehorsemaritime.academy.
